"chars": "<p>Each mahalla hat a \"havz\" which is a water reservoir and channels that would lead to the havz. The water was to be kept clean and the havz was cleaned regularly by poor men, Faizulloev’s informants, explains. The water was taken from the river Syrdarya and taken to all streets. The rules on keeping the water clean were very strict. Frogs in the havz were a sing of clean water. Only one mahalla had no water, the one of the poorest group, they had to carry water from the river to their neighbourhood.</p>",
